Section 1 President

• Ensures the effective action of the board in governing and supporting the League, and oversees board affairs. Acts as the representative of the board as a whole.

• Speaks on behalf of the league.

• Develops agendas for meetings and presides over board meetings.

• Recommends to the board, which committees are to be established. Seeks volunteers for committees, and coordinates individual board member assignments.

• Board Affairs: Ensures that board matters are handled properly, including preparation of

pre-meeting materials, committee functioning, and recruitment and orientation of new board members.

• Present to the board an evaluation of the direction and organizational strength of the KYBL By Laws 

• Annually focus the board’s attention on matters of institutional governance that relate to its own structure, role, and relationship to management. Be assured that the board is satisfied it has fulfilled all of its responsibilities.

• Fulfill other assignments as appropriate.

 

Section 2 Vice President

• Acts as the president/chair in his or her absence; assists the president/chair on the above or other specified duties.

• Provides practice schedules to each Recreational Coordinator.

• Develops a game schedule for each Recreational Coordinator.

• Facilitate and communicate all changes to schedule with Coordinator.

• Attend game scheduling meeting to proactively manage game scheduling.

• Fulfill other assignments as appropriate

 

Section 3 Secretary

• Keep accurate notes during board meetings and produce a report to the board. The report

should include, but is not limited to: attendees, subjects discussed, solutions to issues, future action items including who took on responsibility of tasks.

• Publish meeting minutes report to all board members within a week following each scheduled meeting.

• Remind board members of upcoming meetings.

• Publish board meeting agenda at least 2 days prior to each scheduled meeting.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 4 Treasurer

• Keep accurate financial records for the league.

• Deposit money, drafts, and checks in the name of the league.

• File tax statement with IRS and State of Oregon as required with assistance from the President.

• Disburse funds and issue checks and drafts in the name of the league as ordered by the board.

• Upon request, provide the President and the board an account of transactions by the treasurer and of the financial condition of the league.

• Verify proper paperwork submitted on scholarship applications and report information to Registrar and President.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 5 Registrar

• Organize registration process for league.

• Identify information needed on registration forms.

• Create database of registered players.

• Work with President to organize and process background checks.

• Oversee assignment of players to teams ensuring only eligible registered players are placed on team rosters.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors KYBL By Laws

 

Section 6  Commissioner(s)

• Ideally a coach may not fill this position.

• Support the Evaluations and team selection process for the Rec teams.

• Work with other Coordinators to divide responsibilities of all teams.

• Provide guidance to coaches during game scheduling process.

• Act as liaison between coaches, parents and the board.

• Attend games to check league representation of coaches, players, fans

• Participate in any dispute resolution

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 7 High School Boys Recreational Commissioner

• Support the team selection process for boys high school recreation teams.

• Schedule practices with VP and match up opponents for boys high school teams.

• Oversee assignment of high school boy players to teams ensuring only eligible registered

players are placed on team rosters.

• Coordinate Referee’s for high school game assignments.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 8 NAYS Administrator

• Provide guidance on NAYS implementation for the League.

• Facilitate parent involvement in “National Alliance for Youth Sports”

• Organize NAYS pre-season meeting of team-parent “Culture Keepers”

• Oversee all NAYS sub-committee activities.

• Facilitate purchase and distribution of NAYS materials

• Coordinate NAYS Workshops for Board, coaches and parents.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 9 Facilities Director

• Ensure proper safety is in place at facility

• Keep track of equipment being used

• Arrange for supply or repair of equipment  

• Train/manage coaches, players, parents of proper entry/exit procedure

 

Section 10 Sponsorship Coordinator

• Actively shop business’s, for league sponsorship.

• Assist Fundraising Coordinator in scheduling volunteers and planning league events.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 11 Communications Manager

• Manage web, email, and print communications for the league.

• Maintain web systems.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 12 Equipment Manager

• Manage all equipment-related needs; make approved purchases.

• Coordinate the check in/out of basketballs and team uniforms.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.

 

Section 13 Uniform Coordinator

  • Manage all uniform purchases for classic and recreation divisions based on board approval.
  • Manage distribution of uniforms to coaches/players
  • Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors

 

Section 14 Little Dribblers Commissioner

• Oversee assignment of players to teams ensuring only eligible registered players are placed on team rosters.

• Acts as the primary coach for Little Dribblers managing the implementation of the program.

• Manage all Little Dribblers equipment-related needs; make approved purchases.

• Perform other duties prescribed by the Board of Directors.
