Little Dribblers (1st -2nd Grade) Development Program information:
The mission of the Development Program is to allow first- and second-graders the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while having fun and developing a love for the game. This program is uniquely structured to help children learn the game of basketball.
There are six (6) 60-minute sessions. Each session consists of warm-up/skill development time and a 3-on-3 game where players have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned. Each game is made up of two 15-minute halves with a brief halftime.
First, all participants will be given a thorough introduction to basketball fundamentals.
Second, interested volunteers will be given a chance to coach and learn about the KYBL program with the hope they will continue with their much appreciated volunteering in the following years.
Finally, a group of High School players will be given the opportunity to give back to the program by helping teach the kids and coaches some of the things they learned from the program
Volunteers: For KYBL to run a successful basketball program, we need volunteers to coach. We will provide a coaching manual to all coaches with practice outlines for each week. Please indicate at least one volunteer job on the registration form.
