Program Philosophy: Kaneland Youth Basketball was created to provide Girls who live in The Kaneland Area with an opportunity to compete and to develop their skills in one of the largest girls programs in the area. The league is designed to be competitive as well as to give all participants an equal opportunity to play. To accomplish this, Kaneland Youth Basketball has instituted rules that require equal play. It is the coach’s responsibility to coach and to rotate the players. The coaches are volunteers and it is necessary for everyone to give them support, as the program could not function without them. The program is designed to be competitive and each game will have a score. NO INDIVIDUAL AWARDS SHALL BE AWARDED by coaches or parents. Teams will compete in Kane County Rural League and will play a few away games against Sugar Grove, St. Charles, Hinckley Big Rock and Maple Park. Teams are formed by schools attended (when possible). Games will be refereed by Illinois patched referees.
Volunteers:For Kaneland Youth Basketball League to run a successful basketball program, we need volunteers to coach. We will provide a coaching manual to all coaches with practice outlines for each week. Please indicate at least one volunteer job on the registration form.
***We will be joining the St. Charles Storm League. We will form our own teams, have our own coaches, and practice at our own locations. St. Charles Storm will formulate our game schedule and we will play primarily against St. Charles.
