Boys teams 3rd-8th Grade.  KYBL, Maple Park, Sugar Grove.  End of Season Tournament begins March 11

End of the KYBL Basketball Season is near, and it's time for our END OF THE YEAR MARCH MADNESS TOURNAMENT.  MARCH 11-17, 2018

It’s an exciting time here at the KYBL. Over 250 players,  38 Teams , over 73 games, only 5 days…!  (You read that right, 73 games in Five days...right here in Kaneland…!)

March 11th – 17th is Pool Play.  For that the teams are divided by their season record. Every team will play at least two games.  Some play three depending on how the pool bracket worked out.  Games are during the week…!  We will not have exact schedule until closer to the event..!

Saturday March 17th will be a massive single elimination March Madness style tournament at Harter Middle School.  ALL TEAMS WILL PARTICIPATE ON SATURDAY…seeding’s based on season record and pool play.  Saturday games will be posted Friday (3/16) by 8pm.  Games start at 9:00am.  ($2.00 entrance fee for adults, Kids are free...!)

Go to your team page at for your schedule and tournament rules.  Schedules will be up the week of March 4th

Parents, Coaches, Players we need your help.  Parents please volunteer to run the clock, or keep the book. Be careful allowing children to do this as when a discrepancy occurs it is unfair to the child.

To Everyone: for the last games at the gyms, please pick up all garbage left behind…and take some time to fold some chairs.  We are going to be moving a ton of people thru these facilities this week, and we need to make sure that we clean up after ourselves. Keep track of siblings, no unsupervised students should be wandering the halls of the school.  We can use the gym and the concession area only.

One final reminder, Parents and coaches, this is not the world championships.  Let’s make this about the kids and let them have fun  If you are expecting NBA style of refs at a fifth grade basketball game…then you will be sorely disappointed.  We are out here to teach our youth the skills and the fundamentals of Basketball.  Part of that is good sportsmanship. We all must lead by example…if we are arguing with the refs or yelling from the stands we are not setting a good example for our youth.

Only one team is going to win at each level…which means nearly everyone will go home sooner than they would like to.   Please keep your expectations in check..!

This is a very big tournament with a lot of moving parts…being put on by all volunteers.  Please be patient with our refs and coaches.  Let’s have some fun…!

Thanks for participating…!
